THIS IS ACTUALLY GETTING INSANE...

Hi guys, I don't have anything in terms of new material yet. I have been working on a spontaneous set of fakes intermittently, but that isn't quite done as of now. However, while I was working on that, I decided to look into the some of the new additions to both Photoshop 2026 and Photoshop (Beta). They have integrated the Generative AI program Gemini 2.5, also known as Nano Banana, into Photoshop proper. What caught my eye was that the tutorial for it showed that it can alter a subject's position and facial expressions while retaining the subject's face extremely well. I immediately saw the potential in this and my curiosity got the better of me, so I went and bought some credits to be able to use it. I decided to do something more simple to start with. I went with an earlier version of the Willa fake I made for the Anniversary post, as I felt the headshot I used would be the perfect one to test this with. So what I did was simple: I made a selection, clicked on Generative Fill with the Nano model, I entered "make the subject look straight down and give her a surprised expression." After those simple steps, here is the result with some additional small edits made after the fact:

Now I don't know about you, but when I saw this, I went "HOLY FUCKING SHIT!"

I mean, I can't believe this is how far AI has come. I know there are plenty of people who hate AI with a passion. I don't blame them with how badly and lazily it is used by most genners. I believe it can never replace the soul behind real art, but I believe it can help better bring one's vision to life. I mean this is something not achievable by the traditional methods, and thanks to AI, this fake has become something unique in it of itself. That's not even the craziest part, because this barely scratches the surface of what can be done. We're talking angled headshots, side profiles, a wide range of facial expressions, hair styles, clothes, accessories, backgrounds, and who knows what else. This combined with the tried and true traditional techniques, and the only limitations are your imagination and-more importantly-the amount of credits you have. Unfortunately, the credit system is terrible in pretty much every aspect. I mean you can't even see how many you have or how many credits are spent per generation (which also varies depending on the action), but it's just something I have to deal with it for now. Hopefully they'll improve it further down the road.

Regardless, I am very excited to see what I'll be able to do with this from here on out, and I hope you are as well. So until next time, you guys stay safe out there.
