Only One For You Guys This Week...

 

    Like the title says, I only have one fake for you guys, but not for a lack of trying. For the past week, I have been trying to create a few elaborate A Song of Ice and Fire (Game of Thrones) inspired fakes since "A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms" is absolutely killing it, but each attempt I made was subpar. This is mostly due to me going overboard with them. You see, I was a ASOIAF fan before I was a GoT fan, so I wanted to depict the characters with how they appear in the books rather than how they appear in the show. The problem with that is that both characters in question are extremely pale, and trying to match those skin tones while also retaining the detail of the body has been a hassle. I've had to start from scratch on several occasions, so I decided to step away from those to go back to formula and work on some more traditional fakes to reset myself. However, even those fakes began to suffer, and this was the only one that I was able to finish this week. I'm disappointed in myself for that, but here's hoping I get my mojo back real soon.

   With the internet circulating that Alexandra is now single again, I decided to have another go with her. The last set of fakes I made with her was one I was really proud of, and I'm happy to say that I'm very proud of this one. Notably, I discovered a good technique to make the body match the quality of the headshot. After getting rid of the artifacting, I decided to use both a gaussian blur AND a motion blur. This, to my surprise, added some detail that matched more closely with the headshot, and after applying the same to the head, it not only blended nicely together, but also gave it a smooth detail that was easily enhanced with a high pass filter and a curves overlay. I am so happy with the result, and I hope you are as well.

   I'm still planning on making those ASOIAF fakes because I think it's too good of an idea to pass up, Hopefully I'll be able to actually get them right this time with these new techniques I learned. So until then, enjoy this fake, and as always, stay safe out there.
