Sorry for the Disappearance; Here is a Fake to End the Year on

 

    

    It's been a long while I realize, and I apologize for my absence. The simple explanation is that I've been having a terrible year dealing with all sorts of personal and health issues; issues that needed addressing. These issues had drained me of all motivation and creative passion, and this coincided with a career shift as a result of my previous job affecting my mental and physical health. The fact is, I can't keep this as a dedicated hobby anymore. However, this doesn't mean I'll stop completely, and I want to start up again with this fake of the lovely Freya Allan.

    So I need to address the elephant in the room: the use of AI in fakes. Lately, the scene is dominated by low quality and low effort face swaps, and it has clearly demotivated many fakers from continuing their work since anyone can do it without putting much effort into it. My stance on AI is clear and unwavering: I am NOT against the use of AI as a tool to assist you in creative projects. Every single fake I've made has used AI to some degree. I've utilized the AI tools in Photoshop, Face App, and with this fake, a Face Swapper app. These tools have helped in areas where my skill is lacking, and have helped in making the fakes as realistic as I possibly can. However, AI is not perfect, and I've had to put in the effort to fix its shortcomings. When used properly, AI is a great tool, but you cannot rely solely on it to do the work for you. The nail is not going to hammer itself in, you need to grab the hammer and finish the work. 

    I will refrain from calling this fake, or any others I make with a heavy reliance on AI, high effort or high quality. I more so want to experiment with what is possible with AI, but I will still put in effort to make them as good as possible. I will even experiment with completely AI generated images at some point, but I will not generate low effort slop, publish it, and claim it is art. I will work with the AI, I won't let it do all the work for me.
